Eco Leisure Living to appear at Grand Designs Live
Modular Living; the future of affordable housing
Eco Leisure Living are to unveil their new Low Carbon omission, stylish modular homes for the first time ever, at Grand Designs live, Birmingham this Weekend.
A first of its kind, designed and built entirely from existing modular buildings, and from a mere £60,000, Eco Modular living are revolutionising the future of low cost, low emission, affordable living.
Grand Designs Live offers the UK's first opportunity to see and experience these new builds, with the first full scale Live base model, at Grand Designs Live, Birmingham from Friday 9th – Sunday 11th at the NEC.
Eco Leisure Living form part of the Catfoss Group, which has over 25 years experience in the modular buildings industry. The base model is constructed from recycled steel structures clad with a super insulated shell, a radical approach to reducing the carbon footprint of your self-build project.
This unique ecological approach reinvents the home to create a stylish contemporary living structure that smacks of individuality whilst meeting the government requirements for reducing our global carbon output.
By reusing the basic components of an existing building, carbon omissions and energy use during construction are greatly reduced. The double whammy for the environment is the reduction of construction material waste and the use of waste materials that would normally end up going to landfill.
*Maginnis, Chief Executive of The Modular and Portable Building Association commented:
"It is a well known fact in our industry sector, however not well publicised, that the use of pre-owned modular buildings is the most environmental friendly method of construction and a highly sustainable alternative to new build and disposal of buildings in landfill sites. Pre-owned modular buildings generate less than 10 per cent of the carbon omissions and use less than 3 per cent of the energy during construction compared to a newly manufactured building"
Eco Leisure Living's base model is a single storey, 2 bedroom, recycled, galvanized structure which exceeds current building regulation specifications and can be manufactured to achieve Low and Zero carbon rating where desired.
Any building can be redesigned in 21 days and installed in less than a day. Designs vary from one modular, single storey structures to multi-storey options. Eco Leisure Living's bespoke service allows you to decide your own configuration based on your desired square footage and site requirements. The revolutionary low carbon accommodation comes with a range of guarantees; a minimum 50 years for galvanized structural frames to 30 years maintenance free on our Thermowood cladding option.
Whether specifying their base model or Zero Carbon Home, Eco Leisure Living can integrate and provide site specific renewable energy solutions, wild flower roofing, rainwater harvesting and recycling systems, low energy appliances, smart monitoring and regionally sourced materials to achieve a proven environmentally compliant solution. These sustainable solutions can be tailored for homes, apartments, holiday homes and even hotels.
Eco Leisure Living will be unveiling their first ever modular home in the Grand Village sponsored by first direct at Grand Designs Live Birmingham, from Friday 9th – Sunday 11th October 2009 at the NEC.
Visitors will have the chance to come and take a look at the home, walk around and see why this unique structure is the most sustainable home of the future.
Previously only seen at our London show, the Grand Village sponsored by first direct, explores a series of new build eco dwellings that demonstrate the ways in which architects and designers are pushing the boundaries of design and construction to create and build the most advanced, energy efficient homes.
The Grand Village sponsored by first direct will host some of the most innovative and ground-breaking builds boasting the utilization of healthy and sustainable materials, systems and finishes.
